What is it?
In some WatchMouse packages (e.g. "Platinum") you can specify rules of type 'plugin'. Using a plug-in rule you can extend the power of the WatchMouse system to test any protocol and any server or process on your premises, even behind your firewall.
How do plug-ins work?
Plug-ins are dynamic web pages placed on your own web server, that execute the test on behalf of the WatchMouse server. The page is opened with a number of parameters (see the manual) and returns the result of the test. The dynamic page runs on your server and is under your control, and can therefore access more systems than the external WatchMouse system.
