Led by the company's founders, Stan P. van de Burgt and Mark Pors, the WatchMouse senior leadership team brings a wealth of industry and domain expertise to the company.
CEO and co-founder
Stan P. van de Burgt co-founded WatchMouse in 2002, and since 2003 serves as Chief Executive Officer overseeing architecture, technical design, strategy and business development. Prior to co-founding WatchMouse, he co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer for Q-go, a specialized website search company that uses semantic language technology, where he was responsible for overseeing the architecture, R&D, technical strategy implementation and product development.
Stan began his career at KPN Research in 1987 where he was instrumental in launching KPN's Internet Expertise Center and played an influential role in KPN Telecommerce. While at KPN, he managed the architecture and RFP projects of "Het Net" (KPN's Internet and email portal), where he was involved in a number of acquisition projects and was responsible for integrating a variety of products and services including VeriSign into the KPN Telecom portfolio.
Stan serves as a member of Q-go's advisory board and advises a number of globally recognized brands such as ING/Postbank and KPN regarding product development, technical due diligence, as well as online design and implementation strategy.
Stan received his Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Twente in The Netherlands.
Mark Pors
CTO and co-founder
Mark Pors co-founded WatchMouse and worked as Lead Programmer from 2002 until 2003, when he assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer. Prior to co-founding WatchMouse, he served as the R&D Project Leader at Q-go, a specialized website search company.
Mark worked as a freelance Internet consultant and contractor prior to joining Q-go. He co-founded his first Internet company, Green Globe in 1999, and joined Keycorp Limited as a Sales Engineer in 1998. Mark worked as a Liaison Officer in 1997 for Chipper BV, a joint venture of KPN and ING, and was based in Sydney, Australia.
Mark began his career in 1992 at KPN Research as a Scientific Researcher specialized in embedded real-time hardware systems for telecommunication application. While at KPN, he moved from pure research to project management roles and in 1996, managed a major project for the development of smart card terminals and infrastructure for remote use (TeleChipper).
Mark received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delft Technology Institute in Delft, The Netherlands.
Pieter Ennes
Manager Operations
Pieter Ennes joined WatchMouse in 2007 and serves as Manager Operations. Based in Cambridge, U.K., he is responsible for the daily technical supervision of the WatchMouse team. Prior to WatchMouse, he worked as an Operations Manager for Q-go, a specialized website search company, and as Logistic Systems Trainer/Super-User for Reebok.
Pieter received his Master of Science degree in Computational Physics from the University of Amsterdam in 2006. He also collaborated in the ATLAS detector group for the Large Hadron Collider at CERN (Geneva) and was a PhD student at Nikhef.
Simone Althorp
Product Marketing Manager
Simone Althorp joined WatchMouse in 2007 as a Product Marketing Manager, and is based in London, U.K. Prior to WatchMouse, she worked as a Product Manager for the Corporate Domain Management division of Melbourne IT from 2005 to 2007, where she was responsible for managing the product development of seven international offices.
Prior to Melbourne IT, Simone worked as Product Manager for World Pay (a division of the Royal Bank of Scotland) where she was responsible for the development and enhancement of new and existing ecommerce products.
Simone received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
Dimitris Balaouras
Lead Programmer
Dimitris Balaouras joined WatchMouse in October 2006 as a full-time Web Developer, and was promoted to Lead Programmer in October 2008. He specializes in project management and back-end applications. Prior to joining WatchMouse he performed his national service at the Hellenic Military Geographical Service as a Network and Systems Administrator, where he supervised large scale, high security network design and implementation. Prior to that, as part of his master's program, he worked for the Telecommunications Department at the Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki, building radio signal analytic software.
From 2002 to 2004, Dimitris worked as a freelance IT instructor of networking and software design. He began his career in 1998 as a Computer Technician at The Web, BV where he was promoted to Human Resources Manager in 2000, and eventually moved to the R&D department as a Web Developer by 2002.
Dimitris received his Master of Science, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering from the Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2004.
